The 7 Hermetic Principles are derived from The Kybalion book, which is a written work based on the occult (secret) hermetic philosophy from ancient Egypt. The founder of this philosophy was Hermes Trismegistus, also called “Hermes the three times greatest” and refers to (the greatest philosopher, king, and priest). He was also the founder of astrology and alchemy. He taught his philosophy only to initiates, those who were able to understand the universal truths so that they too could later pass them on to future generations. There are 7 Hermetic Principles, often referred to as the 7 universal principles, and whoever understands them (according to Hermetic philosophy) has the magic key that opens all doors to the secrets of the universe.

The principle of mentalism
Everything is energy. The universe is a creation of “the All.”
Our thoughts are the generator for creating here in physical reality. Without thoughts, creation would not be possible. For example, if we want to make a table, we first think about how we are going to do that and then we act on those thoughts to make that table. The table is a mental process, a thought that exists in our mind and comes from the infinite, life-creating spirit from which everything comes. Every physical object (matter) or event that takes place here in our physical reality is preceded by a thought process. So we can say that everything we create is
“The ALL is Mind; The Universe is mental. ”.– The Kybalion
The Principle of Correspondence
This principle teaches us that there
There is an agreement between the microcosm (which takes place at the smaller level) and the macrocosm (which takes place at the larger level). The small world (atom, microbe, plant, animal, human) have the same composition and structure as the big world (planets, universe, galaxy) We are a part of the universe and the universe is a part of us. Or as the hermetic axiom says: “as above, so below too.“
“As above, so below; as below, so above. ”– The Kybalion
The Principle of Vibration
Everything is moving, nothing is at rest. This principle teaches us that the difference between the various manifestations of matter, energy, information, thoughts
Our thoughts and state of mind are also vibrations. They can have a high or low vibration; hatred, aggression, jealousy, revenge are examples of lower vibrations. Love, trust, helpfulness, kindness, compassion are examples of higher vibrations.
“Nothing rests; everything moves; everything vibrates.”
The Principle of Polarity
Everything is dualistic; everything has its two extremes. Opposites are identical in nature, only the difference in vibration is what differentiates between the two “apparent polarities.” Nothing in itself is single. There is nothing like absolute love or hate, light
“Everything is dual; everything has poles; everything has its pair of opposites; like and unlike are the same; opposites are identical in nature, but different in degree; extremes; all truths are but half-truths; all paradoxes may be reconciled.”– The Kybalion
The Principle of Rhythm
This principle teaches us that change is the only constant. Change is the universal force in existence and makes life and evolution possible. It is the natural cycle of coming and going. Everything has a start, a height
“Everything flows, out and in; everything has– The Kybalion
ittides; all things rise and fall; the pendulum swing manifests in everything; the measure of the swing to the right is the measure of the swing to the left; rhythm compensates. ”
The principle of Cause and Effect
The level where the causes manifest themselves is at the mental level and are our thoughts. Our thoughts are the generator for creating here in physical reality. We then act on those thoughts and consciously or unintentionally create the consequences in physical reality. The free will that a person has received from his Creator allows him to think, feel and act the way he wants. But he cannot avoid the consequences of those thoughts, feelings, and actions. The consequences can either occur immediately or over a longer period of time, but NOTHING escapes the Law of Cause and Effect. The law of cause and effect applies to both the collective and the individual level.
What we think, feel and act as humanity collectively has even more consequences than on an individual level. Individually, a person still has control over his own thoughts, feelings, and actions. On a collective level, this is much less successful and the influence is limited. It is everyone’s job as an individual to choose positive, loving thoughts and create the consequences that we really want. That which “apparently” takes place outside of us in the world around us is actually a reflection that takes place collectively and individually within us. The inner world and the outside world reflect each other (principle of correspondence). It is through this interaction, between what is happening within us, and the consequences that we see and experience outside ourselves that we become aware that thoughts (causes) lead to consequences.
causehas its Effect; every Effect has his Cause; everything happens according to Law; Chance is not a name for Law not recognized; there are many planes of causation, but nothing escapes the Law. ”.
The principle of Sexuality
Sexuality manifests itself at all levels of existence. At the Physical
These two energies ensure harmony and balance in existence and make creation and evolution possible. It is important that these two energies stay in balance with each other. Too much yang or male energy leads to aggressive behavior, a tendency to dominate, a desire for war and ultimately to destruction. Excess yin or feminine energy makes too passive, too careful and too receptive and care. Too much yin or feminine energy makes too passive, too careful and too receptive and causes a lack of progress. In general, men have more yang energy and women have more yin energy. Yet both sexes carry both male and female energy, only to a lesser extent. Here again, it is a matter of vibration whether you are male or female.
But this can vary from person to person. Homosexuality is an example of this.
“Gender is in everything; everything has his Masculine and Feminine Principles; Gender manifesto on all planes. ”– The Kybalion.
